I’ve been re-watching the Wire and I decided to finally read this book. I had to buy a second copy as my original copy is in storage. As with David Simon’s other book, Homicide: A Year on the Killing Streets, it’s a wonderfully immersive read covering an entire year. This time Simon and Ed Burns cover the people and events of a number of drug corners in inner-city Baltimore. For watchers of the Wire this will seem familiar, but it’s a fine book in it’s own right and well worth the read.
