Enders Shadow is a “companion book” to Enders Game featuring Bean as the main character and it tells his story over the same period as the original book. The story itself is interesting and well written. The problem I have with the book is that I feel it doesn’t actually tie in with the original. The character of Bean in Enders Shadow didn’t strike me as the same Bean from the earlier book, and the changing of Bean to be almost super-human makes Bean less interesting, not more.
