Re-release of validates_as_uk_postcode Rails plugin

10th of April, 2009 | 4 comments

A while ago, when I worked for Front, I needed to validate UK postcodes for a project I was working on. As the project was using Rails I wrote a small Rails plugin, validates_as_uk_postcode to do the hard work.

A few weeks ago I noticed that the plugin was no longer available from Front, with the previously available subversion server simply redirecting to the Front website. Therefore I’ve re-released the plugin on github.

The plugin, with minor updates, is released under a Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 Unported License.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for re-releasing this.  We moved our SVN setup to a new server and it seems that this was lost along the way.

Have tweeted that it’s back up and will see if we can restore that link at svn.designbyfront.com too.

Good work :)

Will we be graced with a new post any time soon, sir?

Paul, thanks for the explanation, I’d wondered where it had disappeared to :)

The Sister, pray tell what would you like me to write about? Thinking of something anyone would find interesting is the hardest part (apart from the writing, and the finding the time etc…)

Book reviews, perhaps?

Stephen also wonders how well writing in the third person works. He is not convinced.
